Embassy Suites Murfreesboro Achieves Top Honors for Exceptional Performance

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Embassy Suites Murfreesboro – Hotel & Conference Center today announced it has secured the “Connie” Award for being one of the top three performing properties among the 2009 Embassy Suites Hotels brand set of more than 200 upscale, all-suite hotels throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Located at 1200 Conference Center Boulevard, the contemporary hotel is owned by living hotel legend Mr. John Q. Hammons and managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, the nation’s leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites (www.jqhhotels.com). The 10-story, 283-suite hotel debuted in September 2008 and features 80,000 gross square feet of flexible meeting space, representing the largest convention space outside Davidson County.

“We rely on an experienced, committed staff to ensure an optimum guest experience every time,” said David Latture, general manager of the Embassy Suites Murfreesboro – Hotel & Conference Center. “Our management team leads by example, originating with Mr. John Q. Hammons’ legendary example in the hospitality industry.”

The Embassy Suites Murfreesboro’s top rating is based on quality assurance audits measuring cleanliness, condition and brand standards, as well as customer scores rating staff service and the quality of the hotel’s physical accommodations. The hotel will be honored with a “Connie” trophy, named for Hilton Hotels’ founder Conrad Hilton; a monetary prize; and recognition during an upcoming on-property ceremony.

“It’s so rewarding to see the hotel complex play a central role in the burgeoning Murfreesboro community and surrounding area as was my vision prior to breaking ground on the project. It takes a committed, collaborative day-to-day team to successfully make a project a community anchor,” said Mr. Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts.

Ronnie Carter, frequent guest of the Embassy Suites Murfreesboro, recognized the high quality facility and superb service. “I’ve stayed at the Embassy Suites Murfreesboro numerous times and participated in approximately 50 different functions at the hotel’s conference center ranging from small meetings to large scale events with significant banquet needs. I’ve always been impressed by how tremendous of a facility it is and how highly service-oriented. From the moment you register at the hotel’s personal check-in stations, you definitely get a sense that associates take great pride in their job. That mentality starts at the top,” said Carter, retired executive director of a statewide non-profit high school athletic association.

The hotel is strategically located near SR-840 in the southeast quadrant of I-24 and Medical Center Parkway just .25 miles from the Middle Tennessee Medical Center slated to open in fall 2010. The hotel is also adjacent to the new lifestyle center, “The Avenue Murfreesboro,” which features nearly 1 million square feet of restaurant, home furnishings and fashion shopping in an open air setting.
