In the past year, Las Vegas businesses have watched as their sales figures have gotten slightly better. In support of this, reservations expert Bachelor Vegas has reported a 25% increase on nightlife reservations for the 2012 Labor Day weekend from 2011.

With summer coming to a near close in most parts of the country, natives throughout the U.S. are looking for a time and place to spend their last days of summer. Apparently that time is Labor Day weekend and that place is Las Vegas, NV. In a sales report from travel and reservations concierge service Bachelor Vegas, the company’s reservations for the 2012 Labor Day weekend have surpassed last year’s figures by 25%. On top of the notable increase, an unidentified rep for the company stated that many nightclubs found along what’s known as the Las Vegas Strip have blacked out labor day weekend, stating no more reservations could be filled for the holiday.
Known locally as being experts on the Las Vegas nightlife, Bachelor Vegas works with locals and tourists from near and far to reserve VIP entry to some of the city’s most popular and most sought after nightclubs. On any given night, the service can reserve VIP access to nightclubs like Chateau at the Paris Resort and Casino or Vanity at the infamous Hard Rock Hotel. Due to the knowledge of its employees and ease of use, it’s no surprise that the company would be reporting a sales increase for the popular holiday weekend.
The desire for tourists to come to Las Vegas during Labor Day weekend is not a new one. An exciting atmosphere coupled with the city’s unmatchable weather in September has made it the “it” place to party while other cities start experiencing the start of their colder seasons. In addition, the city’s current financial successes ensure that the constant flow of money filters from tourists through the city itself, eventually landing in the pockets of locals who will, in turn, reinvest that back into Las Vegas. It’s this cycle that keeps the economy of a tourism-based city like Las Vegas from crumbling completely. In Las Vegas, if tourism is on a rise, the economy is inevitable to follow.
While it’s safe to assume that the 25% increase in sales from last year is mostly due in part to out of state visitors, Las Vegas’ economy has been on a rise over the past two years. As the economy gets better, locals are able to invest more money into their city, even going so far as to work with services like Bachelor Vegas to book a fun weekend on the town. A few indications of Sin City’s monetary feats include the sudden rise in prices on the housing market and the rise in tourism from 2011’s figures to 2012’s current stats, which is at an approximate rise of 436,000 visitors from January 2012 through May 2012 (Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority Center, http://www.lvcva.com).
In regards to the sales for the Labor Day holiday weekend, Bachelor Vegas went on to claim that local clubs like The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ Marquee, TAO at the Venetian Resort and Casino, and the Encore’s XS were already reporting to be sold out. Along with these nightclubs are some of the city’s resort-styled pools, who have been watching their poolside bungalows and cabanas get snatched up for the three day weekend.
The popularity of Las Vegas and the importance of that perfect end to the summer ring true through Bachelor Vegas’ reported sales increase. Despite constant complaints by local Nevadans of the poor economy, Bachelor Vegas’ reported 25% increase in reservations from last year is a clear indication that the city is climbing its way back up the latter.
